Join KRHC Community Health and Senior Life Solutions for an educational session on mental health.

Cede Becker, RN will give a brief presentation representing Make It OK Iowa, a community campaign to reduce the stigma by starting conversations and increasing understanding about mental illness.

This Healthiest State Initiative seeks to educate about the stigma around mental illness and the damage it can do. By breaking down that stigma, people with mental illnesses will feel safe to talk about them and will find it easier to ask for help in finding treatment and resources.

At this session you can also hear from Senior Life Solutions Director Lynne McKenna, RN. Lynne will highlight this outpatient group therapy program designed to meet the unique needs of individuals, typically 65 and older, experiencing depression, anxiety, or other mental health challenges often associated with aging

This event is located in the Farm Bureau Shelter House and is free to the public.
