Closing Reception for "Recovering Our Spirit"

Join us for the closing reception of Recovering Our Spirit, a compelling two-person exhibit featuring the work of Asheville-based artists Matt Panuska and Navi Naisang. Both artists were deeply affected by Hurricane Helene last fall, and their work speaks to themes of resilience, transformation, and healing in the face of loss.

Panuska’s practice blends contemporary figurative painting with psychological symbolism, often exploring the human body in surreal and dreamlike spaces. His background in animation and film informs his narrative-driven work, which examines masculinity, vulnerability, and the unconscious.

Naisang’s work explores our psychological relationships with shadow through self-portraiture, drawing on Jungian theory, mysticism, and insect mythology. Her oil paintings and drawings offer a vivid, emotionally resonant look at identity and recovery.

Come meet the artists and experience their work firsthand. Light refreshments will be served. Free and open to the public.
