In anticipation of our beautiful Wildflower Meadow and Franklin Butterfly Junction at the new Dragline Park in Franklin, Kansas we invite you to learn more about honeybees and other pollinators. This program will be presented by Patti and Phil Street.
Did you know that honeybees and other pollinators are vital to the health of wildflower gardens, meadows and crops? And in turn, they provide the pollinators with food sources in the form of nectar and pollen.
Come join us at the Miner's Hall Museum on Sunday, Oct. 5th at 2pm to learn more about this fascinating symbiotic relationship that plays such an important role in a healthy ecosystem. Local beekeepers Patti and Phil Street will provide information on keeping bees as a hobby or just providing a safe habitat on your property for pollinators to forage for food, nest and raise their next generation.
Weather permitting, the presentation will include an onsite observation honeybee hive that allows guests to watch the bees as they work inside caring for their babies, processing nectar into honey and other daily tasks!
