🕯 Candlelight Helene VIGIL by the Toe River for those lost in Mitchell and Yancey County

Join us as we remember those we lost and celebrate hope, faith, resilience and the progress made over the last year since Hurricane Helene. The candlelight 🕯 portion and processional walk to the river with bagpipers will start at 650 pm. Each person will be given flower petals and a battery powered candle. The lumernaries are also battery powered and will remain lit through the evening along Whitson Branch beside the river.
At the river wenwill start with a community prayer followed by a song 🎵 from a violinist. Loved ones of the ones we lost are welcome to speak before amazing grace is played by the bagpipers.
After the vigil Jljoin us for music, a bonfire and smores. More details coming.
FOOD BEFORE VIGIL: Before the vigil there will be a potluck dinner and some campfire sitting! Please bring a dish to share! Grill available too! 5:00-630pm
There will also be a Raffle and 🎂 cake walk to support ongoing #HeleneRecovery efforts
