Austin Cebulske's Soul Impressions CD Release

Saxophonist Austin Cebulske has assembled a dynamic collective of veterans from the STL jazz and roots scene for his original soul-jazz project, Soul Impressions. They'll be celebrating their debut CD release at Joe's Cafe with a 90-min set of good tunes on Thursday, July 24th, 8pm. The group taps into a mixed bag of funky originals and arrangements of American pop tunes from the 60s & 70s with a particularly hip harmonic & rhythmic bend. Drawing inspiration from a diverse range of influences, including Curtis Mayfield, Roberta Flack, & The Beach Boys, these styles coalesce to form a unique blend Soul-jazz/Funk.
