Line Up:

Ridiculously Serious Rebels

We are the Ridiculously Serious Rebels! We are a three man (and woman) band consisting of Raph, Sarah and Rae. Rae is our music teacher and we over time developed a love for singing and performing together, originally at school and now elsewhere!

Our name – RSR – was created as an acronym for our names and doubles as an acronym for Ridiculously serious rebels! Rae always calls us rebels and we are ridiculously (not) serious. When you see us play expect some originals and a variety of “oldies but goodies” especially from the 60’s with two and three part harmony, intertwined with our quirky dynamics, banter and sense of humour!

Leonard Moss

Leonard, apart from being a thespian in his day, teamed up with his mentor Clive Ridgway to put together an album of original songs entitled “Hawks and Doves” three years ago. He has played in duos, trios and four-os, doing popular covers from the 50s, 60s, 70s, 80s and nawtys. Most recently in the critically acclaimed, “Best of British supper club show”, that will be performing for your edification on the 6th of December at this amazing Reload venue.

On 30 August Leonard will perform “Songs from the Southern suburbs” – he says that this “overview of my Southern trek from the Eastern Cape involves a fictitious larger than life character called Pagel that I followed to this paradise by the sea and the antics and philosophical thoughts envisioned through his eyes. Ending off with a brew my Bru's.”

Mobey Dick

Jasper Dick is a singer/songwriter based in Cape Town, South Africa. A jack-of-all trades, he loves to create original songs in a wide variety of styles from folk and rock to blues and kwela, whatever can be used to elicit an emotional response. The lyrical content of the songs is equally varied with themes of politics, war, love and heartbreak, mixed with more upbeat and humorous numbers. Jasper also loves to interpret covers to suit a stripped back acoustic performance.

Claire Mobey is a Capetonian singer and has been writing her own songs, on her old nylon-string guitar, since the age of 13. Based on life experience, Claire’s songs are written from the heart, and range from being the heartbroken one, to breaking her own hearts along the way, with some rock-and-roll mixed in just for good measure!

Jasper and Claire started collaborating as MobeyDick in 2021, after years of promising to meet up and jam. Friends since pre-school, it’s taken decades, a mutual love of music, and a global pandemic to finally get these playground friends on stage together.

Noa Opert

Hello there! My name is Noa. I am 17 years old and I am extremely passionate about music and the way it bends my perception of time – strumming my guitar to weird tunes with some odd vocals in there. The music I relish listening to, feeling and moving with, depends on my mood. It can range from Laufey, Chappell Roan, Mac Demarco, all the way to Mother Mother, the Pixies, and the Rio soundtracks.

I was drawn into the world of music by my beautiful mother who encouraged me to not throw my guitar at the wall when I couldn’t get the chords right because apparently that is not something you should do, but rather push through the difficulties and the sore fingers!

The Frequency

The Frequency is a fresh acoustic duo bringing a sometimes vibrant, sometimes melancholic sound to a wide range of music – both original compositions and reimagined radio hits. Rooted in folk storytelling, their sound drifts occasionally into pop, light rock, and even jazz-influenced terrain.

With guitar, saxophone, and raw vocals at the heart of their performance, The Frequency favours live connection over perfection – seeking not just to entertain, but to share thoughts, smiles, and the occasional head-bop to resonate with the room.

ABOUT

Andy’s Club is a vibrant community project launched in January 2025 by a group of passionate enthusiasts in the Blouberg/Table View area of Cape Town’s West Coast. Our aim is to build a dynamic platform for local musicians to share their craft with a supportive audience.

As a non-profit initiative we’re committed to evolving and improving with each step, learning from others and exploring what resonates with performers, audience, and venue. We celebrate original music and welcome impressive cover versions of beloved songs. We appreciate both seasoned artists who are already confident in their craft and less experienced performers who are seeking a safe place to develop their skills and material. We take the quality of our music seriously, but we are also human and we make mistakes, learn from them, and move on.

We strive to create an immersive experience, inviting performers, supporters, and others who simply enjoy listening, to come together and revel in the beauty of live music. Our aim is to leave them feeling that they have truly heard the compositions without being overwhelmed by excessive volume or complexity.

After hosting two intimate house concerts and a private function at Reload in Flamingo Square, we’re excited to take the next step and share our passion with the public: welcome to “Andy’s Club – Take 4”!

Your ticket is for the show. Dinner will be from an a la carte menu. There will be a full bar service. No BYOB.
