This presentation highlights our hands-on work collecting, processing, and growing native seeds in the Rio Grande Valley and how local communities and science come together to reforest our native habitat.

Speakers:
As Senior Manager of Community Resilience at American Forests, Mylen Arias leads community-driven efforts to restore the Rio Grande Valley’s thornforest through her background in environmental education, scientific research, partnership development, and community engagement.

Serving as the Manager of the Semillas Compartidas (Shared Seeds) Initiative at American Forests, Jennifer Richmond utilizes her extensive background in agriculture to support thornforest restoration in the Rio Grande Valley through seed collection and processing, logistics, and community partnerships.
