The Errington Hall is adding a NEW, INEXPENSIVE summer program for musically adventurous youth ages 8 to 12. The Adventures in Music Camp is offered from August 11-16.
The Camp is an opportunity for kids who are already in music lessons or a band program to acquire exciting new skills in collaboration, composition, improvisation, arrangement, and performance.
At the end of 10 hours, ensembles will showcase their original compositions on the outdoor stage during Hi Neighbour Day on August 16.
Kids with no musical training are very welcome to join in. An assortment of percussion and string instruments, as well as marimbas will be provided for participants without instruments (and of course everybody can sing!). If your child would like to bring their own instrument, thatβs fine too.
Instructors Jill Russell and Kerri Coombs are both professional multi-instrumentalists who have decades of experience composing, performing, and teaching different genres of music.
