Our reader at story hour will be Abbey Payeur. Abbey Payeur is a total book nerd who also happens to be an Assistant Professor of Education of the University of St. Thomas and Vice Chair at The Reading League Minnesota.
Abbey Payeur is also running for an upcoming school board election. Her voting area of the district is #4, which includes northern Andover, Ham Lake, Nowthen, Oak Grove and Northeastern Ramsey. If you take the time to read about her vision you will likely agree with me that she has the background and experience that would make for an ideal school board member.

Despite the fact that Abbey’s platform communicates non-partisan policies, there are extremists who utilize fear mongering strategies to make school board elections political. They have contacted small businesses and threatened backlash because Abbey is volunteering to serve her community as a school board member and to read to children at a story hour.
