Ages 10-12 and 13-15
This 3.75-hour (off ice and on ice) clinic is designed to teach players proper body checking techniques, including body contact, angling and balance control. Well also feature special on ice session on concussion recognition and prevention led by Dr. Jack Jander, a specialist in sports medicine as well as following up with long term consequences- the other side of impact.
Schedule Breakdown
11:30-12 PM: Check-In/ Registration
12-12:30 PM: Warm-Up/ Dryland Drills
12:45 PM: Gear Up
1:00-3:00 PM: IMPACT
Coach-Led - Dr. Jack Jander DPT and Coach Andy Hill with assistant coaches.
1-1:30 ON ICE Q & A/ technique with Dr. Jack on checking, preventing long term injuries, and more.
1:30-3:00 Coach Andy and assistants
(Dr. Jack off ice for parent talk at 2pm)
1. Angling & Gap Control
2. Initiating Contact
3. Receiving Checks
4. Situational Checking
End with safe checking in live scenarios.
2:00-3:00 PM: OFF ICE CHAT FOR PARENTS with Dr. Jack Jander DPT
Heads-Up Hockey: Signs, Symptoms, and Prevention
3:00-3:45 PM: Players- Off Ice
Following up with long-term consequences- the other side of impact. If you injure someone: Your long term mental load from injuring someone or ending a career.
Cost:
$85
Includes off ice, 2 hours of ice time, expert coaching, and on ice medical seminar for players and off ice Q & A for parents.
