Summer Botany Hike #6 Crow Pass/Girdwood

Join us for another unforgettable botany hike along the breathtaking Crow Pass Trail, where the Chugach Mountains unveil a vibrant tapestry of alpine flora. This challenging trek offers a chance to explore diverse ecosystems, from lush subalpine meadows bursting with wildflowers like fireweed and lupine to alpine rocky meadows where we look for some rarer gems that Alaska has to offer.

This hike will consist of about 6.5 miles of hiking and a 2000 foot elevation gain.

Because of limited parking at the trailhead and it being Saturday, I do encourage us to carpool.
We will meet at the REI parking lot on the Northern Lights side at 9:15 am and try to leave by 9:30 am. It is about an hour drive to the trailhead from there and the hike will be about5- 6 hours long.

What to bring:
Small backpack
Hiking boots or shoes
Bear spray
Trekking poles (if you have some to help get around the steeper terrain)
Rain/Wind jacket and an extra layer for warmth
Plant identification guidebooks if you have some. (we can share)
Small water bottle
Snacks
If you have any other questions, you can direct them to me via Facebook or my email dG9icmFkbGV5IHwgZ21haWwgISBjb20=
See you Saturday,
Todd
