Our grand finale brings Haydn’s last and greatest symphony to the stage—his jubilant farewell to the form he helped define. The evening opens with Prokofiev’s cheeky Classical Symphony and Saint-Saëns’ passionate Cello Concerto No. 1, performed by our exceptional principal cellist Isaac Pastor-Chernik. His playing combines fire, grace, and total command of the instrument.
Isaac Pastor-Chermak is Principal Cellist of Vallejo Symphony, performs with orchestras throughout California, and enjoys a prolific career as a soloist, chamber musician, and recording artist. In addition to more than 100 concerts every year, he teaches music history at San Francisco Conservatory of Music. Mr. Pastor-Chermak recently celebrated his latest album release featuring the complete Brahms cello sonatas.
