HCHS Meeting -- Choctaw "Trail of Tears" in Hempstead County

Did you realize that thousands of people of the Choctaw nation came through Hempstead County when they left their home in Mississippi and headed west to modern day southeast Oklahoma. Come hear Chris Adams, Historian at Historic Washington State Park talk about the "Trail of Tears" that came through Hempstead County from 1831-1833.
The Hempstead County Historical Society will meet on Tuesday evening July 22, 2025 at the Tailgaters Burger Company Annex Room in Hope, Arkansas at 7pm. The room is located at 101 South Main Street. Everyone is welcome.
The Historical Society seeks to bring awareness to the rich heritage and history of Hempstead County. Come and share your history with us.
