“Homing: Instincts of a Rust Belt Feminist” – An author visit with Sherrie Flick

Acclaimed Pittsburgh author Sherrie Flick shares her journey from a Western Pennsylvania childhood through a decade of cross-country travel that led her to a new sense of home in Pittsburgh’s South Side Slopes, where she has lived for twenty-five years. With humor, curiosity, and heart, she reflects on the homes that we find and create, and the ways that time transforms our homes around us.

"Homing: Instincts of a Rust Belt Feminist" powerfully explores the people, the history, and the unique culture of Western Pennsylvania, with thoughtful examinations of feminism, labor, and popular culture lending dimension and depth.
