Nestled in the heart of Glencoe’s historic downtown, just blocks from Lake Michigan on Chicago’s stunning North Shore, the 16th annual Glencoe Festival of Art returns on Saturday, July 19 and Sunday, July 20. This vibrant festival, in partnership with the Village of Glencoe, spans the entire downtown area and features over 100 juried artists showcasing and selling original art in a variety of mediums, including paintings, sculpture, ceramics, glass, jewelry, furniture, and more.
Perfect for art lovers of all ages, the festival offers family-friendly activities such as art projects, face painting, sand art, and the new self-portrait project. Look for the Kid Friendly Booths where children can learn more about the art-making process directly from the artists. Enjoy artist demonstrations, live music, and selfie stations as you explore the festival. Delicious meals, drinks, and treats are available at the many local restaurants and cafes along the route.
Admission is free, with plenty of nearby free parking. The festival is wheelchair and stroller accessible, and steps from the UP-N Metra line. Leashed dogs are welcome.
Attendees are encouraged to bring gently used wall art to donate to the Chicago Furniture Bank, a nonprofit providing furnishings and décor to individuals and families transitioning out of shelters into permanent housing. Several artists at this show will also be participating in Amdur Productions’ Purple Ribbon Project. Look for the purple ribbon on select artworks—when sold, a portion of the proceeds will benefit WINGS Program, Inc. WINGS is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing housing, integrated services, education, and advocacy to end domestic violence.
