Saulteaux First Nation Exhibition Game!

This event is part of a two day learn to skate camp where we teach youth in Saulteaux First Nation how to skate and what roller derby is. Our goal is to provide youth with the opportunity to try something new in a safe environment with experienced coaches. We believe that roller derby as a sport is valuable to youth who may not enjoy more common main stream sports, in addition to the benefits of learning leadership, problem solving, and building friendships.

We will host an invitational game on the second day of the camp starting at 3pm on August 10th. This game is to demonstrate a live derby bout for the youth and the members of the community so they can see the action with experienced skaters. Our goal is to share our love of roller derby and what it means to us. For that we need your help! We are looking for Officials (skating and non skating), players, medics, and an announcer to make this part of the event happen. Honorariums will be provided to help cover travel costs.
