Bungendore Community Landcare, in collaboration with Queanbeyan Palerang Regional Council, will hold a tree planting day in Bungendore Park on Sunday July 27th, National Tree Day, commencing at 10am.
The Park, dedicated in 1886, has a long history of community tree planting. In 1887, 24 trees were received from the Curator of the Sydney Botanic Gardens for planting in the park.
In recent years, a number of old pine trees have been removed, so four Italian Stone Pines will be planted, in keeping with the heritage theme. In addition, several Red Oaks and about a dozen Zelkova serrata will be planted.
Please come along on July 27th and help celebrate National Tree Day and Bungendore Park.
