Sashiko Workshops July

Sashiko is a form of embroidery stitching & quilting originating from Japan. Centuries ago Japanese peasants practised a running stitch technique called 'little stabs' to patch and repair torn or worn fabric and clothes. It's a fantastic way of being sustainable and creative by using this mending technique to upscale or extend the life of clothing.

Earlier in April, as part of CATH's On the Mend programme, sashiko expert Sherri Conn volunteered to teach a couple of introductory workshops. We are delighted to announce that she will return in July to take 4 sessions over the course of the month. All materials provided will be reuse and the workshop will be absolutely suitable for complete beginners!

The sessions will take place every Saturday throughout July on 5th, 12th, 19th and 26th from 1.30-4.00pm @CATHconnect (PLEASE NOTE the sessions are 2.5 hours and end at 4.00pm - FB wouldn't allow this to be saved as the end time for some reason).

Cost is £20 per session, however we would offer a discount for anyone who wanted to block book all 4 workshops. Also the groups will have limited spaces, so you'll have to be quick if you want to guarantee your place!

If you are interested in partaking and learning this marvellous technique, please pop into the CATH Shop or CATHconnect to find out more. Alternatively you can contact us on 01738 580 665 or email c2FsZXMtdXBjeWNsaW5nIHwgY2F0aC1vcmcgISBjbyAhIHVr
