The Rising's Sunday Service ~ Who Are You?! What is Your Name?

This Summer, we have been in a “Back to Basics” preaching series where we have looked at the fundamental questions asked in the very beginning of the Bible. The first questions were asked primarily by God. Those questions God asked included: Where are You? What Have You Done? And, Where is Your Brother? Two weeks ago, we shifted from the Questions God asked (in the Book of Genesis), to the Questions Human beings asked of God (in the book of Exodus). The first question Moses asked God was: Who Am I?! In that message we learned that we are a Mess! But God calls us, while we are a mess, to go face the Monster in our lives. The Monster could be in the world, our community, or even our mirror! But God has assigned us a Mission to face and conquer the Monster. Ultimately, we Celebrate because God's mission is filled with Miracles that bring us victory over the Monster!
Looking ahead to this Sunday, we will continue with our Back-to-Basics series. And we ask THE MOST FUNDAMENTAL QUESTION a Human being can ask God:

Who Are You?! What is Your Name?

How you define God will define your life. If you define God as angry and wrathful, you will think wrath and anger are Godly. If you define God as just a watcher, you will think you have to give God a good show. The simple truth is this, when Moses asked God who God was, and what God’s name was, God gave Him the answer we needed, once and for all time! The Holy Spirit will reveal the depths and dimensions of God’s answer to us this Sunday! Don’t miss it!!!
