The Drowsy Chaperone - Racine Theatre Guild

A toe tapping tribute to the love of musical theatre, “The Drowsy Chaperone” is a laugh-a-minute crowd pleaser running Friday, July 18 through Sunday, July 27 at the Racine Theatre Guild.

Dust off your favorite record, place a needle in a groove, and settle into your cozy armchair as you’re transported to the world of an imaginary 1928 musical, “The Drowsy Chaperone.” It’s a trip down one obsessed fan’s memories of all things Golden Age musical. His small, dingy apartment transforms into the setting for a big, extravagant wedding, packed with mistaken identities, larger-than-life characters, madcap hijinks, and flashy dance numbers on the way to the altar.

Winner of five Tony Awards, including Best Book and Best Original Score, music and lyrics are by Lisa Lambert and Greg Morrison with the book written by Bob Martin and Don McKellar and is licensed through Music Theatre International.
