WABA August Meeting - Amitraz-Resistant Varroa Mites

Dr. Jeff Harris is our guest speaker and a Research Professor at Mississippi State. His research interest are around breeding honey bees for resistance to Varroa mites and determining effects of chemical contaminants in beeswax combs on the physiology of queens and drones. Dr. Harris will speak to our club about issues around Varroa mites developing a resistance to Amitraz and will make recommendations on what to use for Varroa mites if you suspect that you might have amitraz-resistant mites.
