The Irish Experience at Phillips House

Step behind the scenes and explore the world of the Irish staff who kept the Phillips House running like clockwork. Through the stories of cook Bridget Durkin, waitress Delia Cawley, nursemaid Catherine Shaughnessy, and chauffeur Patrick O’Hara, you’ll discover what daily life was like for those who worked for the Phillips family during the first half of the twentieth century. This 90-minute tour takes you through their living and working spaces—from the staff bedrooms on the third floor to the laundry room in the basement.
