As promised, a couple of little treats for winter / during my uni break!

La Esmeralda
What do we know about that one other than the Hunchback of Notre Dame, thanks for Walt? Nothing. And that’s because, this full ballet has been performed only Russia, until recently, and a very small amount of companies perform the full length. We know this variation from… competitions, and media choosing to focus on this one piece.
Regardless! We’ll be learning two pieces – *the* variation – the one with the tambourine, and a second Esmerelda variation, a lamentation.
Level: Open. I can’t deny the Esmeralda variation is easy even slightly; so some dance skill is required. You’ll know if you want to try this one. I’m going to be prepared with several versions depending how we go.
Wear: This is the longer romantic length skirt style variation if you would like to dress up, otherwise ballet or gym gear.
Allegro in pointes voluntarily? Your funeral. I’ll be doing flats. If you do bring pointes, bring a pair from the cemetery.
Length:
2 hours, but slightly differently.
We only really need 1.5 hours for this one, because there’s both less lecture content, and I think the majority will want to tap out after 90 minutes of this movement vocabulary. However, that also means that additional stretching and cooldown is going to be required, as the vocabulary is dynamic. //Optional// Morning tea
