Advocacy in Schools

Learn skills and precedents to effectively advocate for your children in the school setting.

Presentation
When your child is experiencing difficulty in the school system, it is up to you, the parent to offer solutions.
Nancy Walton, former Executive Director of Autism Support Network and the speaker in our video series, will provide examples of high-quality school programs, enabling parents to better identify what to ask for. She will then provide tools for effective communication and advocacy, enabling parents to support their child more effectively at school. These tools are also useful when advocating with MCFD, CLBC, or any organization where your child might need better support.
After the presentation, parents and caregivers will have an opportunity to share experiences and ask questions.
