Film Screening and Director Talk: 'Earl.' – A Portrait of Composer Earl Kim

Through live performances and powerful storytelling, celebrate the life and legacy of American composer Earl Kim, the son of Korean immigrants who flew over Nagasaki after the atomic bomb, collaborated with Samuel Beckett, and refused to sign the McCarthy-era Loyalty Oath. The program opens with violinist Jacob Shafer performing Kim’s “Twelve Caprices for Solo Violin,” followed by a screening of the documentary Earl. and a Q&A with the Emmy Award-winning director Ty Kim.
