Upward Inertia is very excited to be partnering with Zen Riot Yoga and Wellness and Illumination Counseling Service to provide an annual Trauma Responsible, Advanced Instructor Training.
Who: This training is open to all 200hr+ trained yoga instructors who would like to deepen their knowledge of yoga and instructing through a trauma responsible lens.
What: In this 30 hour training, we will explore:
What is Trauma and how does it manifest in the body?
How to teach through a trauma responsible lens
Why - why do we sequence the way we do? How can we sequence to elicit a specific energy or intention. How do we sequence to ensure the physical and emotional safety of our students?
Why do we use the breaths we do and when should we use what?
The training will include a deeper look at meditation, mindfulness practices, pranayama, and asana.
We explore how to modify for special needs and how we can create an environment where all students can thrive?
How do we hold our own boundaries to keep ourselves and our students safe.
-------
Our Team: The lead instructors of this teacher training will be Kaelyn Rogers, OTR/L (Executive Director and program developer for Upward Inertia), Jenn Crawford (Owner of Zen Riot), and Karen Gentilmen (Medical Social Worker). There will also be guest teachers speaking to their areas of expertise.
