It's finally HERE!
Join us for an afternoon of story, soul, and hope.
We’re gathering to celebrate the release of Cockroaches, God, Death, and Mangoes—the hauntingly beautiful story about a young boy named Bikonzi and his family’s struggle to survive in a Congolese concentration camp. Set against the backdrop of war, this book is a raw meditation on the silence of God, the nearness of death, and the strange grace that shows up in the most unlikely places.
The evening will include:
— A live reading from the author, Clint Leavitt
— A conversation about the story behind the story with Bikonzi and Clint
— Time for Q&A, reflection, and book signing
— Light refreshments and space to connect
— Coffee available for purchase from the one and only Firecreek!
Whether you're a lover of literature, justice, faith, or simply drawn to stories that linger long after the last page, this event is for you.
🗓 Date: October 11th, 2025
🕖 Time: 1:00 pm - 3:00 pm
📍 Location: Firecreek Coffee, 1618 E McDowell Rd, Phoenix, AZ 85006
🎟 Admission: Free | Books available for purchase & signing
Come celebrate the birth of this story into the world—and the hope that somehow, even in the darkest places, life still finds a way.
