Urban Sketching with Watercolor with Teresa Cook

Capture the spirit of the city through bold lines, loose color, and your unique point of view! In this intimate urban sketching workshop, watercolor artist Teresa Cook will guide you through the fundamentals of sketching on location and bringing your scenes to life with watercolor.

We’ll explore techniques like:
• Quick gesture drawing and simplifying busy scenes
• Creating depth and atmosphere with washes
• Using color intuitively to express mood and movement
• Composing with purpose—from café corners to local landmarks

You’ll leave with sketches and the confidence to sketch your own city stories, whether at a market, downtown square, or hidden neighborhood gem. We’ll work on location (weather permitting) or from carefully curated reference photos if indoors.

All materials welcome—bring your own sketchbook and watercolor set, and I will also be providing all supplies. Great for beginners, travel lovers, curious creatives, or anyone wanting to see the world with fresh eyes.
