MAQUETTES TO MONUMENTS: Studies for Alan LeQuire's "Monumental Figures"

Sculptor Alan LeQuire often draws and creates small models before he proceeds to full scale. This exhibition offers an opportunity to see the progression of over 2 dozen works he created for his heroic scale collection of "Monumental Figures," on view now at the Nashville Parthenon.

The complementary LeQuire Gallery exhibit includes 5 x 7” prints of LeQuire's original sketches for "Monumental Figures", each numbered and signed; and maquettes offered in plaster / ed. of 12, and bronze / ed of 12. A perfect bound exhibition catalog will be available as well as commemorative t-shirts.

"Monumental Figures" honors many everyday women who did extraordinary things and were inspirational to LeQuire, such as Fannie Lou Hamer, Diane Nash, Dr. Dorothy Brown and Joan Baez.
