Blue Diamond hosts Norman Sylvester

Say “blues bar” in Portland and the first name that comes to mind is the Blue Diamond, and rightly so. It makes plenty of sense when you consider that it is owned by a working musician who has seen many joints come and go over the decades. Sonny Hess has the cream of Portland’s blues acts on a regular basis with a nice dance floor, superior built in sound system, and food much better than you expect in a nightclub, at very reasonable prices. It has been a while since the Boogie Cat has performed here, and we are delighted to be back. Living Blues magazine just dubbed Norman the King of Portland Blues, and that description is just fine with us.
