𦫠On Groundhog Day, February 2nd, from his burrow at Gobbler's Knob, Phil the groundhog will emerge to make his iconic winter prediction. Will he cast a shadow, signaling six more weeks of cold, or will his shadowless appearance herald an early spring? Be among the first to witness this cherished tradition unfold live, feeling the anticipation as Phil's forecast is revealed β because we're all hoping for a short winter, indeed!
Once at Gobbler's Knob we will catch a shuttle to the main event. You can expect a lively atmosphere and a whole host of activities, including fireworks, leading up to the cherished tradition. Singing and dancing, with local bands and performers entertaining the crowd. Warm food and drinks are readily available, providing comfort against the cold morning air. Souvenir shops offer a wide array of Groundhog Day memorabilia, from plush toys to t-shirts. Of course, the highlight is the groundhog's prognostication itself, followed by cheering (or groaning, depending on Phil's prediction) and the shared experience of witnessing this time-honored tradition.
After the buses will shuttle you back to town for more Groundhog Day Festivities. You will have some time on your own to explore downtown Punxsutawney, PA, venues and themed activities, and to grab breakfast or lunch before heading home.
**** DISCLAIMER - IT MAY BE COLD, SNOWING, OR RAINING. We suggest that anyone, but more specifically vulnerable age groups (children and elderly persons), who may take this trip understand that Roller Coach and the Venue cannot be held liable for weather-related illness or emergencies. This is a fully outdoor event, just like skiing or playing in the snow! Wear warm, insulating layers and pay particular attention to your feet. You will be standing on ground that will be cold, frozen, and most likely snowy. Wear insulated, waterproof boots and warm layers of clothing, including hats, gloves, and scarves. Hand and foot warmers are helpful (NOT PROVIDED). Many visitors wear their ski and hiking clothes to stay warm and dry. It is advisable to check out the weather forecast 24 hours beforehand for predicted temperatures and precipitation. Bundle up, you will be able to add and remove layers while parked on the bus! The trip goes on no matter the weather! There are NO Refunds due to weather conditions. If Roller Coach has to cancel due to PennDOT highway and street closures, we will fully refund the trip. By purchasing seats, you agree to these additional terms for this specific trip, along with our regular public tour terms and conditions. ****
