The Murray County Historical Society is continuing the 2025 Front Porch Music Series with its second of three concerts on Thursday, July 31 at 7:00 pm with the CarKnees. The CarKnees is a family singing group made up of Alex, Eden, and Miron Carney. They play a variety of classic and contemporary songs. A local band, they are well known for playing and providing music for local events like the Slayton Women of Today’s Autumn Boutique, the Laura Ingalls Wilder Museum Family Fun Festival, and classic car Roll ins.
The Murray County Historical Society will serve free refreshments before the concerts and a free will donation basket will be passed to help support ongoing updates to the Dinehart House. The concerts are family friendly, so bring the kids, a blanket or some lawn chairs, and enjoy a nice night under the big maple trees on the lawn.
This activity is funded in part with a grant from the Southwest Minnesota Arts Council made possible by an appropriation from the Minnesota State Legislature with money from the State's general fund.
