The Wayne County Farm Bureau and Wabash Valley Service Company are excited to continue the opportunity for farmers to learn about nutrient loss inhibitors and nutrient use efficiency through our Nutrient Loss Inhibitor Demonstration Plot (NLID Plot). The 2025 NLID Field Day will be on Thursday, August 21 at 5:00 p.m.

This year’s lineup of presenters includes:
Mike Wilson & Jay Tharp (WVSC) – NLID Plot Products
John Pike (Pike Ag) – NREC Nitrogen Management Research
Dr. John Jones, Ph.D. (University of Illinois) – Fertilizer Management

1.5 hours of Nutrient Management CEUs and 1.0 hour of Soil & Water Management CEU will be offered for Certified Crop Advisors. Bare Bones BBQ will be providing a ribeye dinner.

The plot is located at the Fred Blessing farm, 3 miles north of Fairfield just west of Enterprise Road on County Road 1220N (follow the signs). The program will be held in the air-conditioned machine shed with a short walk to the field plot.

The 2025 NLID project is supported by a Nutrient Stewardship Grant from the Illinois Farm Bureau.
