Is it too late to save the stars?
Every year, our skies grow dimmer—washed out by artificial light. Will we be the generation that lets the night sky disappear… or the one that saves it?
The River Center, in cooperation with DarkSky International Olympic Peninsula, is pleased to bring a special program featuring a team of dedicated night sky rangers. It will be a two-hour journey into one of the most urgent yet overlooked environmental issues of our time: light pollution.
We’ll spotlight four local groups working to protect and preserve the night sky. Learn why their efforts matter and how each of us can play a role in reducing light pollution. Discover their challenges, triumphs, and the innovative ways they’re reconnecting communities with the stars above.
Special guest speaker Wayne Gosnell, co-founder of Blanco County Friends of the Night Sky, will share how one Texas community sparked a movement and how we can do the same.
