Red Nose Mask Workshop with C. Jaye Miller

Workshop Description: The smallest mask that strips us of our masks! The silliness of the Red Nose is some of the most important work we can do as performers… and as people. It’s a technique that teaches us to be fully present, open, and unguarded, and enables us to touch that vulnerability we crave to experience onstage. This playful workshop will help us begin to discover our clown; the part of us we need so desperately as actors. Workshop includes ONE Red Nose mask for each student!

Instructor Bio: C. Jaye Miller grew up in Baton Rouge’s community theatres. She attended Oklahoma City University where she earned a BFA in Acting. After a summer of Shakespeare in the Park she moved to Chicago, where she worked professionally for theaters such as Writers Theatre, The Goodman Theatre, Remy Bumppo Theatre, 16th Street Theatre, First Folio Theatre, Oil Lamp Theatre, Profiles Theatre, with Broadway in Chicago, etc. While working as an actor, she continued growing under the guidance of teachers such as Paola Coletto, Rebecca Gilman, Jeffery Carlson, Susan Hart, Marty Lyons, and Colleen Doyle. C. Jaye was an active ensemble member of Babes With Blades Theatre Company, Adapt Theatre Company, and Dal Vivo. Since returning to Baton Rouge, she has performed in multiple productions with Theatre Baton Rouge and Red Magnolia Theatre Company. C. Jaye is particularly passionate about telling stories that cultivate compassion, awareness, and altruism within the artists telling the stories and within the audiences who come to listen.
