ri 8/15, Re-make, Re-purpose, Re-use Week: Tie dye, dip dye & simple dye techniques

In this dye workshop, Hilary teaches you techniques and tricks for working with easy to use dyes. You'll learn a few tie dye techniques, dip dye and be able to play to refresh & give new life to garments or textiles. We will walk you through prepping your fabric or materials, the best dyes to use, techniques and how to lock your color for best results. Students are allowed to bring 3-4 smaller items to tie dye, dip dye or rework- cotton, linen and cotton/linen blends are ideal. Garments, pillowcases and items of similar size are welcome. Each student will be able to grab 2 blank white cotton bandanas, tea towels or one T shirt from our blanks as well. Please dress comfty with clothes that are ok to get dye on.

*If you are taking additional classes over our Re-purpose, Re-use Week- you will be able to wash or dry your items to continue then in additional classes like block printing & sashiko. We encourage folks to take multiple classes and layer techniques. Students who sign up for 2 classes over the special week of upcycling classes will get a gift certificate for $10, take 3 of our classes in the series and get a $20 gift certificate.
