The Quiet Way: A Sound Journey of Presence and Peace with EarthRoots
Date: Friday, August 22, 2025
Time: 7:00 pm - 8:30 pm
Price: $30
Step into an evening of mindful movement and deep listening. We begin with a walking meditation through softly lit spaces, accompanied by gentle, evocative sounds. As you move slowly and with intention, the path itself becomes the practice, with each note and each footstep an invitation into presence. After this moving meditation, you'll settle into stillness for a peaceful sound journey. Surrounded by the soothing tones of harps, flutes, singing bowls, voices and more, you are invited to relax completely and receive. This experience is both inward and expansive, an unfolding of breath, movement, and sound that reminds us: the journey is the destination.
About Your Teachers:
EarthRoots Music and Sound Healing offers therapeutic sound baths, evocative soundscapes, and music for energetic wellness. Multi-instrumentalists Jenny and Mark Robertson-Tessi will guide you on a sonic journey of relaxation, release, and transformation, using the soothing sounds of voice, harp, flute, guitar, singing bowls, handpan, percussion, harmonium, and more. Jenny has a Master of Music degree, having performed as a harpist internationally with numerous orchestras and ensembles. This music training is complemented by a certification in integrative sound healing. She is also a 200-hour Yoga Alliance certified yoga instructor and is continuing with her 300-hour training. Mark is an award-winning mandolin and guitar player who has performed with many groups across the country. Having studied acoustics, he also builds instruments for sound therapy. He has a Bachelor of Music degree, as well as a PhD that he applies in oncology, developing new patient-centered care approaches. The music and sounds of EarthRoots are inspired by many different traditions, including Celtic, Native American, Folk, and Indian music, but ultimately come from the heart.
