🎨 Paint the Town — One Petal at a Time! 🌼
Join us for the Crosswalk Mural Installations in Downtown Holdrege!
🗓️ Saturday, July 26th
📍 Downtown Holdrege | East & 5th Aves.
Be part of something bright, bold, and uniquely Holdrege! We're inviting volunteers to help paint two brand-new crosswalk murals as part of our public art initiative and we’d love for you to join the fun.
✨ No painting experience? No problem! Whether you're ready to paint a full bloom or just a single petal, you’ll make a lasting impact. We’re calling our volunteers Petal Pushers — because every detail matters.
We’ll provide:
🎨 All supplies + materials
🖌️ Stenciled guides + instructions
🌼 Support from our lead artist
🎶 Music, good vibes, and community connection
All you need to bring is your energy, a little creativity, and your love for Holdrege.
✍️ Sign up to volunteer here: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSecfJejiXpk6AQG-ew4ab9rEEHOy1WjCY7lW_cKckE5QAPmJA/viewform
Let’s turn these streets into something beautiful together.

Background: In spring 2025, the Iron Horse Arts District shared its vision to install vibrant crosswalk murals in downtown Holdrege. After a public call for designs with the theme “Feathered Crossings” (think birds and nature) and a competitive review process by the District’s Public Art Committee, a mural concept by Alma artist Hallie Snyder was selected for the project. It will be painted directly on the crosswalks as a part of a community art initiative. The murals will be installed at the northern and southern crosswalks on 5th & East Avenues, with painting led by Nancy Wiese, local artist, Holdrege High School art teacher, and Iron Horse Arts District board member.
