ABOUT THE PLAY:
When the LeVay brothers bring their significant others to the family’s vacation home on Martha’s Vineyard, the weekend exposes secrets, assumptions, and long-standing tensions. With wit and emotional depth, Stick Fly examines race, class, gender, and generational divide in a story that’s as poignant as it is provocative.

Rehearsals begin mid-November with a break for holidays
Inclusive casting encouraged — all experience levels welcome.
CASTING BREAKDOWN
CHERYL (Black, female, 18–21)
Daughter of the housekeeper. Witty, emotionally grounded, and keenly observant. Navigates loyalty, identity, and boundaries.
TAYLOR (Black, female, early–mid 30s)
A driven scientist from a working-class background. Proud, smart, and struggling with deep insecurities.
KIMBER (White, female, early–mid 30s)
Educated, passionate, and liberal-leaning. Well-meaning but unaware of her own privilege.
KENT “SPOON” LEVAY (Black, male, early 30s)
Creative and sensitive younger son. A writer seeking respect and a life outside his father's shadow.
FLIP LEVAY (Black, male, late 30s)
Successful, charming eldest son. Wears his role well, but often avoids the truth behind the performance.
JOSEPH LEVAY (Black, male, 60s–70s)
A commanding patriarch. Brilliant, emotionally distant, and tightly controlled. Carries secrets that shape the family’s story.
