What is the line between art and obscenity?
Meet Mike Diana at age 20- self-publishing a comic book with a circulation of 300 copies, mostly through mail orders. Trouble looms over him because of his art. While living in Florida, he's charged and found guilty of obscenity for his comic book work. In the history of the United States, Mike was the only artist (of any kind- not just comics) to be charged and convicted of obscenity. He was jailed and was subject to police raids and had his art supplies and art taken away. This play dramatizes these events and the aftermath of his struggles. It is about finding humor, grace, and inner strength when the world turns against you.
Note: strong themes; not for children.
