A highly respected performer, lecturer, and senior AMEB examiner, Anthony brings decades of experience in piano pedagogy and performance. He is one of Australia’s only certified Taubman Approach teachers and a trusted mentor to pianists and teachers alike.

Anthony van den Broek is a sought-after pianist, educator, and lecturer in piano performance, historical performance practices and piano technique. He holds a Bachelor of Music in Performance and studied with concert pianist, and recording artist, Julie Adam and continues to take private lessons with John Bloomfield and Therese Milanovic
Mr. van den Broek maintains an active career as both a soloist and chamber musician, with a repertoire spanning several centuries, styles and composers, including Couperin, Bach, Haydn, Mozart, Beethoven, Chopin, Liszt, Debussy and Messiaen. He is a senior piano examiner with the Australian Music Examinations Board (AMEB) and has lectured in piano pedagogy, technique, and music history at universities across the United States and Australia, where he work privately with undergraduate and graduate students
Mr. van den Broek also runs a private studio in Sydney, teaching students from beginners to advanced levels, and mentoring piano teachers as well as classical and jazz concert pianists. He is one of three certified practitioners of the Taubman Approach in Australia and is sought after by pianists to solve technical limitations and to treat and resolve playing related tension and injury.
In addition to his performance, teaching and examining work, Mr. van den Broek has served as a jury member for numerous national and international piano competitions and adjudicates music festivals and eisteddfods in Australia. He is a member of panels for the AMEB Federal Board, advising on examination regulations and the development of the piano syllabus.
He is the current Chair of the Music Teachers’ Association of New South Wales and a former Deputy Chair of the AMEB (NSW) Board.
