No one knows exactly how old the original mill is but it was first mentioned in the 15th Century when it was known as Donynges (Dunning’s) Mill.

Since then, the same family have owned it for the last 250 years.

In 2008, work began to try and uncover the ruin of the smaller mill where they found fragment stones, one larger mill stone and evidence of an older water wheel.

There is 1 reported death onsite, that of a miller. Once outside the Mill there is an active trainline with several reported deaths over the years and a the Oldbury Viaduct nearby also with reported deaths during the construction of the viaduct this location is sure to have activity.
