Free Art Friday is a day where artists and creatives put their work out in the public for people to find a piece and keep it. A bit like the pebble decorating and hiding during lockdown. We want to give a little bit of creative joy to the locals this summer, so we’re organising a Free Art Friday in Westwood!

Find and keep some great artworks hidden around Westwood centre, made by local artists – a mix of brilliant professionals and talented non-professionals. Whatever you find, you can keep! A new piece of art for your bedroom wall, a gift for a friend… most of the pieces up for grabs are 100% unique and specially made for the Free Art Friday event. Who knows, you might even be able to snag a freebie from the next big thing!

At our central hub (which is our fancy way to describe a tent in the middle of the field) we’ll have a kid-friendly drop in drawing activity, plus some squash and snacks.

Expect a relaxed setting, like a casual scavenger hunt! Drop in to the workshop tent and our team will give you some clues as to where the artwork has been hidden. Or get straight into wandering round Westwood and see what goodies you stumble across!

We want to make sure the artwork is spread fairly around, so please only take one-two pieces per person. There will be around 100 pieces available.

We expect to be hanging out until 5pm, or until the artwork has all been collected.

Children must be accompanied by an adult.
