We’re heading down to the beach – but this time, with bin bags and gloves in hand! Join the Dorset Diving team for a beach litter pick at Shore Road, Sandbanks, as we do our bit to help protect our beautiful coastline.
Why we’re doing it.
As divers, we see first-hand the impact that litter has on our oceans and marine life. What ends up on the beach often ends up in the sea – and that’s something we can help prevent. Whether it’s plastic bottles, wrappers, fishing line or cigarette butts, every little bit we pick up makes a difference.
This event is part of our commitment to giving back to the ocean that gives us so much – and we’d love for you to be part of it. It’s a great way to spend a few hours outdoors, meet fellow divers and ocean-lovers, and do something that really matters.
How we’re doing it
We’ll provide bin bags, gloves, and some handy litter pickers (though feel free to bring your own if you have them). We’ll start with a quick briefing, then spread out along the beach and dunes to collect whatever we can find. Once we’ve finished, we’ll leave the bags in a designated area for the council to collect (pre-arranged).
Bring your friends, family, and anyone who loves the sea – you don’t need to be a diver to take part!
Pets welcome too - although please check any dog restrictions that maybe in place before arrival!

Meet us outside Jazz Cafe at the end of Shore Road for a briefing.
If you have a Dorset Dive Club T-Shirt please wear it. If you have your own litter pickers, gloves and high-viz please bring these along aswell (we do also have some to provide).
Parking is available nearby at a pay & display car park at the top of the road or on road parking nearby. Please do not block any access points.
