Join us for our Annual Sevier Day Celebration! Party like it is 1745 for John Sevier’s 280th Birthday celebration at Marble Springs State Historic Site on September 20th from 10am - 4pm. Admission is free! Expect a day filled with games, music, educational lectures, and other family fun! 18th century demonstrations include blacksmithing, salt-making, cooking, and other 18th century crafts. Hands-on crafting is suitable for all ages!
Dr. Magra from the University of Tennessee will present a lecture on The Battle of Kings Mountain at 11:30am at the pavilion. Learn about Sevier’s role during this pivotal battle during the American Revolution on that fateful day in October.
Dr. Locklin-Sofer from Maryville College will also be lecturing on the Women’s Roles in the 18th century at 2pm. Explore how gender roles in frontier America differed and were
