National Tree Day - Let’s do a ‘TREE WALK’
Sunday July 27 > 2pm - 3.30pm
Come and learn about a selection of native trees, many with unique features, which occur locally in our Central Qld Coast Bioregion. We will be utilising the Botanic Gardens new Guided Walk Brochure - “Trees of the Central Qld Coast Trail” and the Storymap QR code
Meet Garden Friends Guide - Maya - at The Garden’s Shop / Visitor Information at the Mackay Regional Botanic Gardens, just before 2pm. Look for the Guided Walks flag.
Let Maya know you intend to come on this lovely stroll through the Gardens by texting 0436331009.
We will discover - Tarenna, Eastern Gondola Bush, Whitsunday Lepiderema, Mackay Cedar, (all around Admin)…
Native Gardenia, Leichhardt Tree, White Beech, Damson, Flame Tree, White Cedar, Hooker’s Bauhinia, Snow Wood and Hoop Pine, (lower lagoon path to Coal Garden)…
There’s Tulipwood, Scrub Wilga, Milky Pine in the Timber tree area… and as we return we will see the Cluster Fig, Lemon Scented Gum, Creek Cherry and Grey Satin Ash.
Of course there are lots of other trees along the way, but we will try not to be distracted…
