Join us for a short ceremony at the flagpole of the Fort Caspar parade grounds as we honor the soldiers of the 11th Ohio Volunteer Cavalry and 11th Kansas Cavalry who lost their lives during the Battle of Platte Bridge and Battle of Red Buttes on July 26, 1865.
We will be joined by members of the United Veterans Council and American Legion who will provide a short memorial service following the reading of the names of the soldiers killed. This memorial will mark the 160th anniversary of the battles and the death of Casper's namesake, Lt. Caspar Collins.
This event is free and open to the public. Please contact the Fort Caspar Museum at 307-235-8462 with any questions. We hope to see you there!
