"My journey into fiber art began with a macramé workshop at a La Crosse County Library, sparking a passion that quickly blossomed. What started as a personal exploration has evolved into a dedicated practice, weaving together threads of creativity and community. Coming from a family of fiber artists, I've always been drawn to the tactile nature of fiber, finding in macramé and weaving a meditative outlet. This process allows me to unwind and reflect, especially after navigating the demands of my work in healthcare.
My art is more than just knots and weaves; it's a reflection of my commitment to fostering creativity in our community. Through teaching macramé classes at the library or local small businesses, I aim to normalize artistic expression for all ages, bridging generations and inspiring others to discover their own creative potential.
Collaborating with local small businesses and fellow artists is also integral to my practice, building connections that enrich our shared creative landscape. Sustainability is at the heart of my work. I strive to leave a positive impact on the world, both as a legacy and as a Mama, by embracing sustainable practices. This includes reusing, recycling, and repurposing materials whenever possible, minimizing waste and honoring the resources we have. Each piece I create is filled with this intention, a tangible expression of my dedication to a more mindful and beautiful world.
