How One Artist Thinks and Plans: Basic Procedures for Making Art Quilts

Join the Riverfront Arts Center on Thursday, August 21 at 6 p.m. for a special artist talk with Roz Schuettpelz, retired art educator, award-winning local artist, and featured exhibitor in Visions XXVI.

In her talk, “How One Artist Thinks and Plans: Basic Procedures for Making Art Quilts,” Roz will share insight into her creative process, including sources of inspiration, planning techniques, and her approach to hand appliqué and quilting. Attendees will have a chance to view works in progress and learn how her award-winning textile pieces come together. Light refreshments and drinks will be provided. Guests are also welcome to view Roz’s piece on display as part of Visions XXVI, which runs through August 31.

Wrap up the evening by heading across the park for the final Levitt AMP Stevens Point concert in Pfiffner Park, featuring opener First Avenue and headliner The Cold Stares.

The Riverfront Arts Center is free and open to the public. Regular gallery hours are Wed. through Fri., 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., and weekends from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Summer hours extended - 8 PM on Wednesdays and Thursdays from July 2 through August 31. (Closed on holidays and between exhibitions.)
