AUDITION NOTICE
The Mousetrap
by Agatha Christie
directed by Rebecca Worley
A group of new boarders become trapped in a boarding house in rural England in a snowstorm. The arrival of a policeman on skis brings news of a killer on the lose in the countryside. That night, one of the guests dies leaving the policeman to question everyone there. Secrets are revealed and the murderer is shocking!
Audition Dates:
July 26th and 27th, 10 am -12 pm both days
Location: Bakersfield Community Theatre, 2400 S Chester Ave., Bakersfield
Auditions will consist of warm readings from script excerpts. No prior preparation is needed.

September 12,13,19, 20, 26, 27 at 7:30 pm. Matinee, Sundays, September 21, 28 at 2:00 pm
ROLES TO BE CAST
Mollie Ralston: 20-30s, married to Giles, owner of the boardinghouse, responsible
Giles Ralston: 20-30s, married to Molly, owner of boardinghouse, industrious, responsible
Christopher Wren: young man, artistic, neurotic, untidy, childish, architect
Mrs. Boyle: older woman, imposing, bad-tempered, rude, dissatisfied with everything and everyone
Major Metcalf: middle-aged, military bearing, hale and hearty, genial
Miss Caswell: young woman, masculine in appearance and mannerisms, strange, aloof
Mr. Paravicini: foreign, dark, elderly, flamboyant, accent
Detective Sergeant Trotter: 20-40s, common looking, slight cockney accent, cheerful
Radio Announcer: voice only
Since 1927, Bakersfield Community Theatre has helmed works that encourage diversity and inclusivity, promoted local artists, and focused on the community aspects of theatre. While some scripts call for specific character guidelines, people of all ages, races, ethnicities, gender identities, and physical abilities are encouraged to audition.
